Ellen Delaney
Ellen Delaney has been painting in Northern Virginia for the past 10 years. She works as an architect and paints on the weekends. Her paintings are of rural landscapes done in an abstract manner in acrylic, on paper or plywood. She depicts planted fields, wild grasses, and subtle shades of sky and water rich in color and texture and punctuated with small fragments of man-made elements. Horizontal and diagonal lines delineate abstract land forms. Her recent work is inspired by time spent in Iowa, Maine, and Provence.
